Looking for /llms.txt
This usually takes a few seconds.
Check failed
The check didn’t finish.
This usually means one of the following:
- The address is misspelled, or is missing “www.”
- The site took too long to respond.
- A firewall is blocking automated requests, including this one.
A tidy llms.txt helps tools find your pages. It doesn’t tell you whether AI recommends your firm.

How this check works
Look for the file
We request
/llms.txtand/llms-full.txtfrom your domain.Test the format
If the file exists, we check it against the llms.txt proposal: a single H1 with the site name, a short summary, and sections of Markdown links.
Draft a file
We read your site’s public pages and draft an llms.txt you can edit, copy or download.
An honest note: Google has said it doesn’t use llms.txt for Google Search. Some AI assistants and tools do read it. Adding one is low effort and low risk, but it won’t fix access or content problems on its own.
FAQ
Common questions
What is llms.txt?
A proposed standard, published at llmstxt.org in 2024, for a Markdown file at the root of a website. It gives the site’s name, a one-paragraph summary and lists of links to the most useful pages, so language models and AI tools can find them quickly.
Does Google use llms.txt?
Google has said it doesn’t use llms.txt for Google Search, so it won’t change your Google rankings. Treat it as a small extra for AI tools, not as an SEO fix.
Which AI tools read llms.txt?
Some AI assistants, coding tools and agents fetch it when they are pointed at a website. Support varies, and no major AI search engine has said it uses the file to decide what to cite.
What is the difference between llms.txt and llms-full.txt?
llms.txt is a short index of links. llms-full.txt is a common companion file that holds the full text of the key pages in one document.
Where do I put the file?
At the root of your domain, so it loads at https://www.yourfirm.com/llms.txt as plain text. Update it when you add or retire important pages.
