AI Crawler Access Checker
AI assistants use crawlers to read websites. If your robots.txt file or your CDN blocks them, they can’t read your own description of your firm, even when you rank well in search. This check reads your robots.txt and tests the main AI crawlers against it.
Results will appear here.
Enter your firm’s website above. The check takes a few seconds.
AI crawlers checked include
- GPTBot
- OAI-SearchBot
- ClaudeBot
- PerplexityBot
- Google-Extended
- Bingbot
Checking…
Reading /robots.txt
This usually takes a few seconds.
Check failed
The check didn’t finish.
This usually means one of the following:
- The address is misspelled, or is missing “www.”
- The site took too long to respond.
- A firewall is blocking automated requests, including this one.
Access is only the first step. See what AI systems actually say about your firm once they can read it.

How this check works
Fetch robots.txt
We request
/robots.txtfrom the address you enter, following redirects to the final host.Find the rules for each crawler
For each AI crawler we find the group of rules that applies to it: its own
User-agentgroup if there is one, otherwise the*group.Decide allowed or blocked
We apply the matching
AllowandDisallowlines and show the exact lines that decided each result.Look for Cloudflare’s managed rules
Cloudflare can insert its own AI crawler rules into robots.txt. When we see them, we say so, because they have to be changed in Cloudflare rather than in the file.
robots.txt is only one gate. Firewalls and bot protection can block crawlers without anything appearing in robots.txt, and this check can’t see those rules.
FAQ
Common questions
Does allowing AI crawlers mean my content will be used for training?
Not necessarily. Some crawlers collect training data and others fetch pages to answer questions in real time. You can allow one kind and block the other; the results table shows each crawler’s purpose.
Is robots.txt legally binding?
No. It is a widely followed convention, and the major AI companies say their crawlers respect it, but it is not an access control.
Why would Cloudflare block AI crawlers?
Cloudflare offers a setting that blocks known AI crawlers, and it may be switched on by default for newer domains. Many site owners don’t know it is active.
How often should I run this check?
After any change to your website host, CDN or security settings, and at least once a quarter.
