What AI Bots See
Many AI crawlers read only the HTML your server sends and don’t run JavaScript. If your site builds its content in the browser, those crawlers see a near-empty page. This check compares the raw HTML with the page a browser renders.

Fetching and rendering
This usually takes a few seconds.
Check failed
The check didn’t finish.
This usually means one of the following:
- The address is misspelled, or is missing “www.”
- The site took too long to respond.
- A firewall is blocking automated requests, including this one.

How this check works
Fetch the raw HTML
We request the page the way most AI crawlers do, without running any JavaScript, and extract its title, H1 headings and visible text.
Render the page
We load the same page in a headless browser, let its JavaScript run, and extract the same things again.
Compare
Coverage is the share of the rendered page’s words that are already in the raw HTML. 100% means a crawler that doesn’t run JavaScript sees everything a visitor sees.
Googlebot renders JavaScript, but most AI crawlers, including the ones behind ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, are reported to fetch the raw HTML only. Content that appears only after JavaScript runs may be invisible to them.
FAQ
Common questions
Do AI crawlers run JavaScript?
Most don’t. Analyses of crawler traffic have found that the crawlers behind ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity fetch the HTML but don’t execute JavaScript. Googlebot is the main exception.
What does the coverage figure mean?
It is the share of the words on the rendered page that are already present in the raw HTML. A low figure means much of the page only appears after JavaScript runs.
How do I fix a low coverage figure?
Serve the content in the HTML: server-side rendering, static generation or prerendering all do this. Most WordPress and website-builder sites are fine; problems usually come from JavaScript frameworks or widgets that load text later.
Why is the rendered column sometimes missing?
Some pages block headless browsers or take too long to load. When that happens we show the raw HTML only, which is still exactly what most AI crawlers receive.
